Friday should be just as cold, with temperatures of -15 C, according to The Weather Network.

The City of Toronto has opened all warming centres to protect its vulnerable residents.

The centres are located at:

  • 129 Peter St.,

  • 5800 Yonge St.,

  • Exhibition Place, Better Living Centre, 195 Princes’ Blvd., and

  • Scarborough Civic Centre at 150 Borough Dr.

During an extreme cold weather alert, residents of Toronto are encouraged to dress as warmly as possible, do their best to stay dry, drink warm fluids, and check in on family and friends.

The city recommends rescheduling outdoor activities while the alert remains in place.

Forecasts predicted that Toronto would get its coldest temperatures of the season this week, and it looks like they weren't wrong.
