The pandemic [...] and the limited hours permitted to work as an international student, and also the current pandemic going on in Nigeria have greatly impacted my family financially.  Oluwapelumi Debbie Adegoke

Adegoke, who was born in Nigeria, is currently studying child and youth care and living in Hamilton, Ontario.

The student hopes the fundraiser will help her pay off debt from the last semester as well as cover her tuition for the upcoming year.

She states that if payments aren't made by March 31, 2021, she will have to wait until next year to graduate.

"I have outstanding fees from last year [...] and will be forced to wait for next year to graduate if I do not make a minimum payment," she says.

As of right now, Adegoke has raised nearly $4,000 of her goal of $11,350.

So far, 54 donations have been made toward her cause.
