Someone In Ontario Became $70 Million Richer Last Night With A Lotto Max Win

Big money!
Senior Writer

What would you do with this much cash? The Lotto Max jackpot on Friday was won by someone in Ontario and they just got a whole lot richer.

The winning ticket for the July 31 Lotto Max draw was sold somewhere in Thornhill, Ontario so if you're in that part of the province, check your ticket!

$70,000,000

How much the winning ticket is worth

Even if the $70 million winning ticket wasn't purchased by a single person, that's still a lot of money when it's divided up within a group.

When the jackpot reaches $50 million or higher, Maxmillions are given out.

Six of the $1 million prizes were won with tickets sold in B.C., Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba or one of the three territories.

In Ontario, one of those was in Simcoe County and the other was bought online. There were also two second prizes of $119,105.10 each bought in Renfrew County and Toronto.

The next Lotto Max draw is on August 4 with a jackpot of about $26 million.
