Sheriff's Office Still Insists Ujiri Was The 'Aggressor' In 2019 Incident After New Video
That new Masai Ujiri bodycam video doesn't seem to have changed a thing for the Alameda County Sheriff's Office. The California office is insisting that the Raptors chief was "the aggressor" in the notorious 2019 incident.
New footage released by Ujiri's legal team on August 18 appears to show deputy Allan Strickland blocking Ujiri with his arm before shoving him multiple times as the GM attempted to celebrate with his team, the new NBA champions.

The video shows Strickland was "undeniably the initial aggressor" in the altercation, said Ujiri's legal team.
But the sheriff's office doubled down on Wednesday. They told CP24: "We 100% stand by original statement that was released that Mr. Ujiri is the aggressor in this incident ... Don't be quick to judge based off of what lawyers are saying."
The sheriff involved has been accused of racism and prejudice in relation to the incident, which occurred on June 13, 2019. Ujiri is countersuing Strickland, per CP24.
Meanwhile, Raptors coach Nick Nurse said on Wednesday: "To me (the video is) pretty self explanatory, and disappointing."
