The provincial government is expanding its vaccine supply in some of the GTA's hot spots and sending doses of the Pfizer vaccine to 16 Ontario pharmacies.

The 16 pharmacies will each receive approximately 150 doses of the Pfizer vaccine per week, and Ontarians over the age of 55 will be able to book appointments by contacting the pharmacies directly.

In an announcement on Thursday, Ontario said more pharmacies could be added to the pilot program depending on its results and vaccine supply.

The pilot program's announcement was part of a major change in Ontario's vaccination schedule that means any Ontarian over the age of 18 will be able to book a vaccine appointment before the end of May.
