Porter Airlines is making some big moves in the aviation industry, with new planes, destinations and flights out of Toronto Pearson International Airport in sight for 2022.

The airline announced on Monday that it will be acquiring up to 80 fuel-efficient Embraer E195-E2 aircrafts in 2022 that will jet-set out of Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and Toronto.

New routes and destinations across Canada, the United States and the Caribbean — like Vancouver, Tampa, Las Vegas and more — will be announced in mid-2022, according to a Porter press release.

The airline ensured flyers in a press release it will continue to fly out of Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport and that regional routes will remain as normal.

"We will carry on serving you on our regional routes with our De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft from our city centre hub."

Just last week the airline announced its return after months of closure for fall 2021.
