Even Canadian celebrities are following the rules. The Schitt's Creek Emmy party on Sunday was forced to slash their guest list because of Ford's new gathering restrictions. The event, which was held at Casa Loma in Toronto, only ended up having the biggest cast members attending.

In an interview, Eugene Levy, co-creator and star of the hit Canadian comedy, told PeopleTV that the guest list for the cast's Emmy party had to be cut down significantly.

His son and fellow co-creator Dan Levy had previously floated hosting a "Canadian rager" in his parent's backyard.

However, that shindig was later ditched for a small gathering at Toronto's iconic Casa Loma.

"Then it transformed itself into a lovely gathering at Casa Loma in Toronto, obeying every COVID rule of how we could get 15 people," Eugene said, according to People.

"Originally we had all our nominees and plus ones and that was like 38 people — because up until two days ago in the province of Ontario, you could have 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors," he added.

Premier Doug Ford then announced that he would be reducing the province's social gathering limit to 10 people indoors and 25 outdoors. The move came as a response to a recent spike in COVID-19 cases.

Levy stated that this meant a lot of people who were originally going to help the cast celebrate could no longer attend the party.

"Unfortunately, a lot of people couldn't come, but being able to celebrate with everyone who works so hard on the show was just a great way to cap off," Levy concluded.

Schitt's Creek won all four main acting categories last night, marking the first comedy series to do so in a single year.

The show also won the most Emmys for a comedy in a single year.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau offered up his personal congratulations to the cast and crew in a wholesome tweet on Sunday night.
