Staff Sgt. Jim Callender said in a video that police believe the couple boarded a flight to Eastern Europe and "are aware that they are wanted in relation to the incident and are actively evading police."

"Oliver and Lucy, if you're seeing this, we encourage you to turn yourself in," said Callender.

"We are working closely with international authorities and we are positive that our investigation will lead to your whereabouts. We will continue to relentlessly pursue you."

Karafa and Li are wanted for the death of 39-year-old Tyler Pratt, who was discovered by police on February 28 in Stoney Creek along with a second victim who was critically injured.

Who are Oliver Karafa and Lucy Lu Li?

Oliver Karafa and Yun (Lucy) Lu Li are both residents of Toronto.

Back in 2014, Karafa was sentenced to five years in prison for impaired driving causing death.

Karafa, who was driving over the legal alcohol limit during the 2012 crash, took responsibility for the death of his passenger, 24-year-old David Chiang.

According to the National Post, Li is the daughter of businesswoman and financial management business executive Hong Wei "Winnie" Liao.

Li also has two sisters with whom she shares social media accounts that have amassed a significant amount of subscribers.

According to the Post, Karafa and Li were "associates" of both Pratt and the 26-year-old injured victim.
