Toronto's food scene is constantly changing, and there's always something new to explore if you're looking for the new best restaurant in Toronto.

However, with great news also comes sad goodbyes, especially when it comes to a neighbourhood restaurant that has decided to close its doors.

Thankfully, we're keeping tabs on all the new and exciting things to check out this cold season and here are some of the latest city updates.

Restaurant Closure in Toronto

Frisaca Bar, a Mexican restaurant located in Toronto's West Queen West neighbourhood, announced on Wednesday that it will officially close its doors on February 15, 2024.

The Mexican restaurant serves a long list of homemade tacos, enchiladas and burritos, with various beers on tap and a tequila menu worth scrolling through.

Unfortunately, the Toronto restaurant posted on its Instagram that their "lease agreement is coming to an end on February 15th, 2024. However will keep our doors open until this date, please stop by for some tacos before our departure."

So make sure to say your goodbyes before they no longer reside in Toronto's bustling neighbourhood.

Dry January just got more

Just in time for dry January, Sobar Social Club will be hosting Toronto's First Mocktail Competition with Ceders Drinks on January 13, and it'll be an opportunity to experience the non-alcoholic world. You can buy tickets to witness some of Toronto's best mixologists compete to create the best mocktail drinks but also enjoy a night filled with fun things to do.

"The event will feature a wellness market, activations, and with Ceder's Non-Alcoholic spirits, attendees can enjoy all the taste and sophistication without the alcohol," the events page states.

Tickets cost $63.31 per person and include venue access, a wellness market, a DJ, a photo booth, exciting giveaways, six expertly crafted mocktails and a treat from the food vendor.

A foodie festival is coming

With the winter back in full blast, there is more to the season than just skiing and snowboarding. Stackt Market is dedicated to giving Torontonians a purpose this season with their annual Sweet City Fest.

The event will be taking place from February 9 to 19, where you can explore different eats, drinks, Valentine's Day experiences, long weekend activities, and so much more.

Make sure to keep an eye out for more details by visiting their website.

Which of these events are you more likely to go to?
