Toronto Zoo, Ripley's Aquarium & Casa Loma Are All Reopening This Week

Toronto, we're getting there! There's more good news for 6ix residents looking to return to some kind of normality, as numerous attractions and venues are getting ready to welcome the public back. Toronto Zoo is reopening along with Ripley's Aquarium and Casa Loma this week, and other attractions like the Art Gallery of Ontario will follow in the next few days.

The 6ix is already heading into stage two of reopening efforts in the province on June 24, which means more businesses and attractions are opening up while following health guidelines.

And, already, a few dates are now out and you can expect to enjoy your favourite spots once again within the next few days, in some cases.

For starters, the Zoo, Ripley's, and Casa Loma all plan to reopen before the end of this week.

The Zoo tweeted on Tuesday, June 23, that they will be welcoming animal lovers back starting Saturday, June 27.

At first, though, only members will be allowed back in for the usual walk-through service, and they'll have to book in advance, too.

You should expect to see some changes, too, including social distancing measures and potentially the use of "family bubbles."

During the pandemic, the Zoo had made other arrangements for attendees to see their favourite animals via the comfort of their own car.

An email sent to Narcity on Tuesday detailed that the Scenic Safari Experience will continue to be in operation while the limited reopening takes place.

Face masks will be recommended for zoo visitors but will not be made mandatory.

Meanwhile, Ripley's Aquarium announced on Tuesday it is opening its doors again this Friday, June 26. It will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., albeit with numerous new safety measures.

Casa Loma confirmed in an email sent to Narcity that it's also planning on opening up this Friday for touring.

The museum's website notes its patio is already open to guests.

And the AGO also announced on Tuesday that it will also reopen to members and pass holders on Thursday, July 2.

It will then accept customers who have purchased tickets from July 23 as part of a staggered reopening.

As for other major attractions across the 6ix?

Well, for one, the CN Tower announced on Wednesday, June 24 that it will be welcoming guests back as of July 15.*

What with stage two, these reopenings, and the sizzling hot Canada Day weather to come, that Toronto summer is finally gathering pace.
