Toronto’s Iconic Fish-Shaped Ice Cream Spot Is Closing & Now’s Your Last Chance To Go

Sadly, it's time to wave goodbye!
Lead Writer, Travel

It's a sad day for ice cream fans. The 6ix is about to become a little less sweet with the closure of one of its iconic ice cream shops. Toronto's Taiyaki NYC is closing its only location in the city this month, so it's your last chance to get your hands on a fish-shaped cone.

Toronto boasts lots of delicious ice cream parlours to cool off at, and Taiyaki NYC is one of them.

The venue is known for its unique fish-shaped cones and whimsical looking soft-serve.

Taiyaki NYC has informed Narcity that due to COVID-19, the Toronto shop will be closing.

The store will be shutting its doors for good at the end of July, so you have a few weeks left to get your fish-shaped ice cream fill.

Not only is this the only location in Toronto, but it's also the only one in Canada.

After this month, it looks like you'll have to travel to the States to satisfy your Taiyaki NYC cravings.

The news of the closure comes only a month and a half after the business announced that they would be reopening for the summer.

The parlour featured Instagrammable soft-serve, including magical unicorn cones.

In the winter, fans braved the cold for festive Christmas tree cones that were well worth the extra chill.

Despite the news, there are many other spots in the city to get unique frozen desserts.

Dutch Dreams serves up some insane cones with every topping you could imagine.

You can also get ice cream-stuffed watermelon for the sweetest sandwich of your life.

Plan one last adventure to this fin-tastic ice cream parlour and wave goodbye before it closes at the end of the month.
