All aboard! You don't need a car to enjoy a beautiful weekend getaway. This waterfront city is a train ride away from Toronto and is filled with historic charm.

You can spend your weekend wandering along scenic trails, visiting attractions and dining at delicious restaurants.

Brockville is a charming destination located in the Thousand Islands region. According to Brockville Tourism, it's "a quaint small-town city overflowing with skating rinks, hiking trails, river activities, and heritage gems," making it an idyllic spot for a getaway.

You can take a 3.5-hour VIA Rail trip from Toronto to reach this quaint city. The train station is situated in the downtown area, making it easily accessible.

During your visit, you can explore Canada's first railway tunnel and visit cute creatures at the Aquatarium.

You'll want to spend some time in the historic downtown, which features beautiful architecture and numerous shops and restaurants.

If you're craving some fresh air, the Brock Trail is a beautiful place to stroll. It takes you along the waterfront and through local parks.

You can get a taste of island life by visiting some of the public surrounding islands, or taking a cruise along the St. Lawrence River.
