With the results just around the corner, Canadians are patiently awaiting the outcome of the 2020 U.S. election.

While Trudeau has remained nonpartisan throughout the presidential campaign, it seems many Canadians are concerned about what will happen next.

According to a survey conducted by Leger and the Association for Canadians, the majority of Canadians are worried that major chaos could occur post-results.

The concern comes as Canadians have witnessed "chaos" in the streets, highways being blocked, gun sales rising and businesses boarding up stores, says The Canadian Press via CTV News.

Perrin Beatty, president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, weighed in on Canadian sentiments and said the American election is like "watching your neighbour's roof catch fire."

"You're both fascinated and horrified," he added.

Per the survey, 68% of Canadians say they're worried that America's political infrastructure will shut down as a result of the possible social unrest.

The fear reportedly stems from the idea that President Donald Trump will not accept defeat if he does end up losing the presidential race.
