This tiny island in B.C. has crystal clear water, beaches dotting the shoreline, towering trees, a quaint small town, and one of the best views in the country.

You can reach the island pretty easily on BC Ferries, and it's the kind of place you never really want to leave. The beautiful views, charming atmosphere and lush nature make it the perfect summer retreat.

Salt Spring Island is a beloved getaway in B.C., and recently, it was featured on a ranking of the "best views in Canada." The ranking, by Remitly, "analyzed over 483,000 tourist reviews for landmarks, viewing points and popular tourist spots across the country" to determine the best views.

While you might think the famous mountain views in B.C. got the most praise, it was actually Mount Maxwell Provincial Park in Salt Spring Island that topped the ranking in the province. It came in second place overall, right behind Bear's Hump in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Mount Maxwell is the highest point on the island, where you can get panoramic views of the surrounding islands and expansive ocean. It's a bit of a hike to reach it, but worth it to take in one of the most breathtaking views in the country.

The views don't just start there though. Taking the ferry over from Vancouver Island you'll get to enjoy a beautiful journey, that just keeps getting better once you reach the island.

From the waterfront town of Ganges with its charming storefronts to the rolling farmland and fields of lavender — there are views at every turn.

Then you have the rocky beaches, lush forest trails, and little farm stands alongside the winding road that wraps around the island.

This is a place where you're sure to get your fill of beauty.
