This B.C. destination is getting some serious love in a recent ranking of trending destinations for the snowy season.

Airbnb released its 2024 winter travel trends for Canadians in a press release, and it will inspire even the most summer-loving people out there to embrace the season.

While Blue Mountain in Ontario took the top spot, Kamloops earned third place in the ranking. About a four-hour drive from Vancouver, this city is relatively under-hyped in terms of West Coast destinations — but clearly people are loving it.

The picturesque city turns into a winter wonderland, with snow-tipped peaks surrounding it. It doesn't have the hustle and bustle of Vancouver and is a gateway into stunning nature. Sparkling frozen lakes, sprawling valleys, and steep mountains are all around here.

It's an outdoor lovers' dream with two ski resorts — Sun Peaks and Harper Mountain. Sun Peaks is about 45 minutes from the city but has three mountains of terrain, and is actually Canada's second-largest ski area. You can enjoy the wide-open slopes here, or stick closer to the city and still embrace the outdoors. There are also hiking and snowshoeing trails all around, and even ice fishing.

Strolling around town also makes for the perfect winter day, visiting the local shops, craft breweries, and restaurants.

Vancouver also made it to the top 10 trending domestic destinations for Canadians this winter. If you're in for some wintry magic, you know where to go!
