If you're looking for a budget-friendly getaway, this Canadian city was just ranked among the world's best for off-season travel —meaning you can save some serious cash while still having an amazing time.

Vancouver serves up breathtaking views and outdoor adventures year-round, and apparently it's among the best in the world if you want an off-season deal. Travelbag recently ranked global destinations for out-of-season travel by analyzing factors like hotel and flight costs, weather, and drink prices during non-peak periods.

Using their own booking data, they put together a list of the top spots to visit when tourism slows down, allowing you to get better deals without sacrificing fun. Vancouver was the only Canadian city to make the cut, landing an impressive third place, right behind Ubud, Bali, and Colombo, Sri Lanka. According to Travelbag, visiting Vancouver in the off-season could save you over £1,100 (roughly $2,044 CAD), thanks to the drop in hotel and flight prices.

The off-season in Vancouver typically runs from November to March. While you might have to embrace a bit of rain, you'll also avoid the crowds, find cheaper flights and accommodations, and still have plenty to do. One of the city's biggest draws is its stunning natural beauty, which is impressive no matter the season.

"If you don't mind wrapping up warm, Vancouver's off-season is an ideal time to explore the city’s food scene, enjoy fewer crowds at top attractions, and make the most of the savings while soaking in its spectacular scenery," Travelbag noted. Plus, winter means prime skiing at all the resorts near the city.

So, if you were thinking about a summer trip to Vancouver, you might want to rethink your plans — off-season might just be the move!
