Plenty of British Columbians have grown used to Dr. Bonnie Henry's calm and comforting presence over the course of B.C.'s COVID-19 pandemic, but she was nearly overwhelmed by emotion in her most recent press conference.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Dr. Henry noticeably choked up when she announced that 74 people had died of COVID-19 in B.C. over the last five days.

"Over the last five days, we've had the tragedy of 74 additional British Columbians dying from COVID-19," said Henry, beginning to tear up.

Over 882 people have died in B.C. from COVID-19, Henry announced.

"Our condolences go out to all of the families who are mourning their loss, to the care providers, and to the communities who have lost loved ones," Henry said.

Henry's emotional moment mirrors that of Manitoba's Premier Brian Pallister, who started tearing up during a press conference.

"I'm the guy who's stealing Christmas to keep you safe," said Pallister.

Thankfully, Dr. Henry has also been in the news for positive emotional displays.

When B.C. made its vaccine roll-out announcement, Dr. Henry was spotted dancing in the background of the press conference.

"Protect Dr. Bonnie Henry at all costs," wrote one viral tweet that captured the jig.
