Calling all movie buffs. If you want to jumpstart your career in the film industry, Ryan Reynold's Group Effort Initiative is for you. The Canadian actor's project puts the focus on hiring BIPOC people with no prior experience to work on his next movie.

The Vancouver local explained the new initiative on his twitter.

"Making a movie, well it's a group effort. But for entirely too long that group has systemically excluded Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, and a whole host of other marginalized communities," he said.

He goes on to explain that "COVID willing" he is starting a new movie this fall and has committed to bringing on 10 to 20 new hires, with no previous experience, to be trainees on the project.

He is specifically looking for applicants from the BIPOC community and any and all other marginalized groups.

He also doesn't care how old you are. The actor says this is "because it's never too late."

The 43-year-old went on to say, "I myself am actually way older than I appear on set so you're going to get to see what Ryan Reynolds looks like without the full beauty makeup."

He goes on to explain the perks of the position.

The recruits will be paid, housed, and given travel, all with the funding coming from his salary.

They then will get to spend the time on set working with professionals and getting real-life experience to help jumpstart their careers.

Reynolds doesn't give any details on what the movie is about but he does drop some exciting hints in his announcement.

He says filming is supposed to begin the fall and then later thanks Netflix and Skydance, which is a California based production company, for letting him do this.

He also encourages other people with the same privilege as him to do the same kind of thing.

Anyone who is interested in this opportunity is being told to sign up on the website and more updates will be sent to them once details have been confirmed.
