If you're planning a night out with your besties this weekend, you might want to head to the Vancouver bars that were just named among the best in North America in 2024.

The 50 Best revealed its list of North America's 50 Best Bars for 2024 and two Vancouver cocktail spots made the list.

The bars which received recognition on the list are located around Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Botanist Bar, tucked inside Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel, was recognized for the second year in a row for its cocktail experience. The Vancouver establishment ranked 24.

According to The 50 Best, the bar team at Botanist, "draws inspiration from the natural bounty of the Pacific Northwest, sourcing and foraging local ingredients to mix into drinks that are equal parts showpiece and storytelling."

The cocktail menu features innovative creations like the appropriately named Raincouver Cocktail, which honours Vancouver's clouds and rainforest climate.

"As the seasons change, so does the cocktail menu, and the featured spirit-free options are just as inventive as the booze-fuelled ones," The 50 Best says.

The Keefer Bar, in Vancouver's historic Chinatown, earned a spot at 49.

The 50 Best list describes this bar as an "institution of the city for more than a decade" that spotlights "its history through a unique drinks programme that is inspired by old apothecaries."

The Keefer Bar's cocktail menu currently has a "spring prescriptions" list with cocktails like the Away with the Fae drink which is topped with a jasmine lollipop.

So next time you're going out in Vancouver and want to try some creative cocktails, these spots are worth checking out!
