Ontario's weather has been all over the place this week with some spots seeing temperatures close to 20 C, but winter hasn't given up just yet.

"Winter is always known to fight back in Ontario, and that will be the case in the coming days across the region," says The Weather Network.

The weather agency says that there's trouble brewing for southern Ontario for Thursday, Friday and then again on Sunday, which might dampen the plans for those celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

"Multiple systems will move in with some unsettled weather, including rain and the chance of thunderstorms, before colder temperatures return once again, bringing southern Ontario back to reality with a shot of snow for some areas," says TWN.

For Thursday, the GTA is expected to see 10-20 mm of rainfall with that precipitation likely leading into Friday morning. That might change into a period of flurries over the cottage country areas.

"While confidence currently remains low for exact snow totals and placement in the Great Lakes, there's higher certainty for a late-weekend system cooling down temperatures and bringing unsettled weather. That means drivers should at least be prepared for the return of winter driving conditions, as snowfall chances are not over in southern Ontario just yet," advises TWN.

As for next week, it looks like the winter weather might be sticking around, but who knows — maybe we'll get another warmup!
