On Thursday, July 10, the Air Canada COVID-19 refund policy was extended by 30 days. This means that eligible customers now have until July 12, 2021, to submit their refund requests.

According to a news release, only 40% of eligible customers have requested their refunds.

With a total of 1.8 million bookings fitting into the refund request parameters, this means that there are still over 1 million claims that have yet to be made.

Anyone who bought a non-refundable ticket before April 13, 2021, to travel on or after February 1, 2020, but wasn't able to fly for any reason can submit a request to get a refund.

This can be done either online or directly with your travel agent. According to Air Canada, 92% of submitted requests have been processed so far.
