At the beginning of the pandemic, many provinces released guidelines for intimacy and that included B.C.'s COVID-19 safe sex guidelines

The COVID-19 and Sex page on the BCCDC website puts forth advisories like avoiding sex when sick and even a note that "you are your safest sex partner."

Your next-safest sex partner(s) is/are the person(s) you live with, or the person(s) who has close contact with only you and no one else. BCCDC

The guide continues to say that "Video dates, phone chats, sexting, online chat rooms and group cam rooms are ways to engage in sexual activity with no chance of spreading COVID-19."

If you do want to be intimate with a partner, the government says you should have one or a few partners and be sure to talk to them about precautions and who they've been in contact with.

There is also a list of steps you can take to protect yourself during sexual intercourse.

The steps include washing your body before and after, wearing a mask, avoiding or limiting kissing, not being face-to-face, and using barriers like "glory holes."

They also advise using protection and, of course, washing your hands.

Stay safe out there, love birds.
