BC's Gathering Rules Are Changing & Here Are All The Details

The province says you can now host a dinner party.

Contributor

On Thursday, May 25, British Columbia's path to reopening was announced by Premier John Horgan and Dr. Bonnie Henry. In that announcement, Bonnie Henry detailed how B.C.'s gathering restrictions will change throughout the four steps of the reopening plan.

Step 1 is officially underway as of today and it's brought with it the ability to host personal gatherings outside with a maximum of 10 people. As for indoor personal gatherings, you're allowed to invite five people or one other household over to hang out inside your home. The province suggests that something you can now do is "host a small dinner party."

During Step 2, which could begin as early as June 15, outdoor personal gatherings of up to 50 people will be allowed and the indoor restrictions will remain the same apart from the addition of playdates. The province says that you could "enjoy your annual outdoor block party."

Step 3 could start as early as July 1, Canada Day, and this will bring us back to normal personal gatherings indoors and outdoors. They have added that sleepovers would then be allowed, too. They suggest you could attend a family reunion at this time.

Finally, Step 4 could happen as early as September 7 and would see us returning to "normal social contact." An activity that could be possible at this time would be throwing a Halloween party.
