These 4 Canadian airlines were just named among the best in the world

Planning a getaway? You might want to book a flight on one of these airlines. The world's best airlines of 2024 have just been revealed and four Canadian carriers made the cut.
Airline and airport review website Skytrax has released its annual list of The World's Best Airlines of 2024 as part of its World Airline Awards.
The Awards is the "world’s largest, annual airline passenger satisfaction survey" and airlines are voted for by customers. Key factors include carry-on policies, seat comfort, quality of meals and staff attitudes.
Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the 2023 to 2024 survey which included more than 350 airlines from around the world.
Of the four Canadian airlines featured in The World's Top 100 Airlines in 2024, Air Canada ranked the highest at number 29. This is an improvement from last year when it was ranked at number 38.
The airline garnered wins in five categories, the most of any Canadian carrier, at the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards, according to a press release.
The wins are:
- World's Best Business Class Airline Lounge Catering for the Toronto Air Canada Signature Suite
- Best Cabin Crew in Canada
- Most Family Friendly Airline in North America
- Best Premium Economy Class Onboard Catering in North America
- Cleanest Airline in North America
The next Canadian airline to make the top 100 list was Porter, which climbed to number 57, a big leap from its place at 99 last year.
The carrier was also named the Best Regional Airline in North America for 2024.
The third Canadian airline was Air Transat, which moved up to number 59 from its previous position at 62 last year.
Lastly, WestJet ranked at 64 on the list, maintaining the same position as in 2023.
Qatar Airways was named the World's Best Airline at the 2024 World Airline Awards, with Singapore Airlines coming in at second place and Emirates in third place.
