The Facebook post, posted on Monday, June 29, reads that the traffic section of the Calgary police is looking to locate a driver who was involved in the serious hit and run.

The incident took place last week on Monday, June 22, at around 10:40 a.m.

The collision resulted in a serious injury at the 0-100 block of Deerfield Villas Southeast. The three-year-old victim is named Kaylie. No last name has been given.

She was allegedly crossing from a nearby green space towards her home when she was hit by the vehicle. The accident resulted in serious head injuries, although specifics were not released.

After the incident, the driver did not remain on the scene.

The child was taken to the hospital where she is still receiving care for her injuries.

Police are now searching for answers and are turning to the public in hopes that someone knows what occurred.

Calgary officers have stated that they're looking for a minivan-style vehicle that is possibly dark green. The driver was described as being a Black male with "very close-cropped hair or a bald head."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at (403) 428-4000.

Photos of the little girl have been released where you can see several cuts on her face and one of her eyes is swollen shut.

In a second photo, you can see her wearing a neck brace.

This isn't the first time this has happened.

On the same day, Calgary police released information on their Facebook page stating that a 17-month-old sustained potentially life-threatening injuries after being involved in a hit and run in Deer Ridge.
