Going on vacation doesn't need to be expensive and you don't have to go far. There's a deal happening right now at an Alberta hotel that's almost too good to be true. You can treat yourself to a vacation deal in Calgary, and the stay is practically free this summer.

Usually, getting a hotel room around Stampede is nearly impossible. But because the event is cancelled for 2020, bookings are down.

As such, the Sandman Signature Calgary Downtown Hotel is offering standard rooms for $75, and you get a free AMEX card worth $75.

You can then use your free credit card toward whatever you want, including paying off the price of the room, making it free.

There are lots of places in town you could spend the credit, too. Perhaps you fancy a dessert tour where you fill up on mochi donuts and Dole whip? Or would you instead use it towards some online clothes shopping?

To get score the deal, you'll need to book by Wednesday, July 15. Most dates between now and Tuesday, September 15 are available, but there are some blackout periods.

After spending weeks feeling trapped in our apartments, we think this is a fun way to go on holiday. We are already picturing spending the day swimming at their indoor pool away from the hot weather outside.

Plus, spending a night in a plush hotel bed will ensure you'll wake up feeling recharged.

To spoil yourself, we suggest you be extra lazy. Wouldn't starting the day by ordering breakfast in bed feast be amazing?

The hotel's promotion is subject to availability, and you get one AMEX card per day for up to five days.

So you don't miss out, it is best to book ASAP. Reservations can be made online using the code ABESCAPE.

Who are you going to stay with? Will it be a solo trip, or perhaps you'll share a room with your BFF?
