One Province Is Home To Almost All Of Canada's Cases Of The Variant Strain From Brazil

The cumulative number of Canada's P.1 variant cases has reached 1,023 as of April 7. 

The P.1 COVID-19 virus variant was first detected in Brazil and, according to government data, 878 of Canada's total P.1 cases have been reported in British Columbia.

In comparison, Ontario has reported 120 cases of that specific variant of concern and Alberta has reported 23. 

There were also two cases reported in Quebec.
