It's set to happen within the next five years!
The federal government has revealed Canada's plans to land a rover on the moon before the end of 2026.

The mission, which will be conducted in partnership with NASA, also aims to "advance lunar science and technology" right here in Canada.
Those involved hope the rover will be able to last through an entire lunar night, which is around two weeks long. The conditions are expected to present major technological challenges though, according to Global News.
Minister Champagne also announced that the Mission Control Space Services will receive $3 million to test "cutting-edge technology in lunar orbit and on the Moon's surface, with a mission currently planned for 2022."
