On the same day that Canada's international travel restrictions were extended until May 21, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that he is hopeful that he'll be able to head to the U.K. in June for the G7 Leader's Summit.

“I'm certainly hopeful that we'll be able to attend in person," Trudeau said at a press conference on April 20. "I know there are continuing to be restrictions and concerns, but as we get closer to June, hopefully it'll become clear that I will be able to attend in person."

The summit is intended for the world's leaders to come together and discuss how to “help the world build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic and create a greener, more prosperous future," he said.
