Canadians reveal the universities with the best reputation and the big three have competition
University of Toronto didn't get the number one spot. 👀

McGill University.
People have shared the Canadian universities with the best reputation, and the University of Toronto isn't the top choice.
It seems like the country's big three post-secondary schools have competition from other universities in Canada.
Narcity recently posted on Facebook and asked people, "Which university in Canada do you think has the best reputation?"
It has more than 150 comments, with over 20 post-secondary institutions being named as the most reputable.
These are Canada's best universities based on reputation, according to Canadians:
- McGill
- University of Toronto
- Queen's University
In global university rankings, U of T is usually recognized as the best in Canada, but more Canadians think McGill is the most reputable.
Also, the University of British Columbia typically rounds out the top three, but this time it's dropped out of the podium.
The next most reputable post-secondary institutions are the University of British Columbia, the University of Waterloo and St. Francis Xavier University.
Those universities are followed by Mount Allison University and Dalhousie University, which are tied for seventh place.
After that, the University of Guelph and McMaster University are tied for eighth, and the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Ottawa are tied for ninth.
These universities only got one comment each that named them the post-secondary school with the best reputation:
- University of Alberta
- Memorial University
- Vancouver Film School
- Lakehead University
- University of Victoria
- Université de Montréal
- University of Calgary
- Western University
- Simon Fraser University
While many Canadians had a clear answer to the question of which university has the best reputation, quite a few people couldn't make a choice.
"I would say it depends on which program you are interested in doing," someone said.
Others agreed that specific programs of study are what make a post-secondary school the best, rather than the academic institution as a whole.
Another person commented that it's "hard to pick just one" between U of T, McGill and UBC.
"There's no one 'best university' in Canada," someone commented. "Being 'best' really means being best for you."
One person said that most of the universities in Canada have a good reputation.
So, it seems like no matter where you go to university in Canada, someone thinks it's the best post-secondary school in the country!
