Chipotle's Canadian Expansion

Along with the first new location to open up in Canada since 2018, the first "Chipotlane" in the country is also opening at a new restaurant in Port Coquitlam, B.C., this summer.

It's a drive-thru pick-up lane for digital orders where getting your food is supposed to take less than a minute.

Chipotle is planning to open six more restaurants in B.C. and Ontario over the next 12 months.

Canada has cleared what Chipotle calls the "stage-gate process" meaning the company will be experimenting with different restaurant formats and designs here.

Chipotle Locations Across Canada

With the new restaurant openings that were announced, the total number of Canadian locations will be 31.

There are already six B.C. locations in Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley, Surrey and West Vancouver.

Chipotle also has 17 Ontario restaurants in Toronto, Scarborough, Mississauga, Ottawa, Oakville, Vaughan, Markham and London.

Newest Menu Items

Chipotle has introduced some new menu items in Canada, including the Cilantro-Lime Cauliflower Rice, a plant-based option that is available for a limited time.

There's also a new customizable quesadilla that was added to the menu on the app and website.

Chipotle said that its team is focused on finding ways to get its food to more Canadians.
