Canadians Share Their Thoughts About The Holidays In 2020 & It Will Give You So Much Hope

Canadians can agree that COVID-19 has not only changed the way we live out our day to day lives but has also dictated how we celebrate the holidays. However, with Christmas 2020 less than four weeks away, Canadians have somehow found a way to see the positives.  

New data from Ipsos shows how Canadians are feeling about the upcoming festive season and how they plan to spend their holidays in this unique year.

88% Canadians want to give back to those in need.

Canadians want to receive a charitable gift as the pandemic has made it difficult to spend this holiday, according to the poll.

In fact, 75% of people who took the survey said that they want to receive a present that would help someone else instead of gifts like clothing or electronics. 

And despite the hardships faced by Canadians across the country, they still want to help those having an even harder time.

As such, a whopping 88% of respondents said that they want to spend this season helping those in need. On top of that, 82% said that those less fortunate are on their minds during this trying time.

Additionally, 80% of Canadians said they will avoid in-person gatherings with 44% saying they won't travel to see family and friends but instead opt for staying home. 

The survey shows that the magic of the season is still here with us as 93% of parents and 82% of non-parents said they will keep the holiday spirit alive. 

If there is one thing people of the True North understand it's the spirit of the holiday season and finding comfort and support in the midst of the chaos.
