Editor's Choice: Trump Promises He'll Be 'Back In Some Form' In His Final Speech As President

I will always fight for you, I will be watching, I will be listening. Donald Trump

Trump began his speech by answering the crowd with an enthusiastic, "And, we love you," and proceeded to speak about his time in office.

The crowd listened intently as Trump highlighted that the United States is in the best possible place as he departs office, noting that, "The future of this country has never been better."

The outgoing president also joked with the crowd saying, "I hope they don't raise your taxes, but if they do, I told you so."

He thanked his family, staff, and the American people for their support over the last four years and said that it was his "greatest honor and privilege" to be the president.

Trump concluded his departure ceremony with a promise — "Goodbye, we love you, we will be back in some form," which garnered massive cheers from the crowd.

His final words as he left the stage were, "Have a good life, we will see you soon. Thank you."

The NBC stream promptly started playing "YMCA" by the Village People as he walked off stage and onto Air Force One for the last time — a fitting departure.
