It's time to get excited! Popeyes Canada's chicken sandwich is officially launching across the country on September 14 after more than a year of only being available in the U.S. You'll soon be able to get your hands on the fast-food chain's iconic menu item.

It will be available at every single one of their 230 locations in Canada.*

If you don't feel like going out, you can also get it delivered.

Rob Manuel, the general manager of Popeyes Canada, told Narcity that most locations are on Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes or DoorDash and will feature the chicken sandwich.

It's made with a white meat fillet that's marinated in a blend of seasonings then hand-battered and breaded in a buttermilk coating and topped with barrel-cured pickles and a toasted buttery brioche bun.

Then you have your choice of classic or spicy mayo.

Depending on what province you're in, the sandwich will cost you between $5.99 and $6.49.

If you were worried that it would be just a limited time offer in Canada, you can relax now.

It's going to be a regular menu item that's available every day for you to order and enjoy.

"We're excited it’s here and it's here to stay," said Manuel.

To make sure that everyone is safe when the chicken sandwich is finally available across Canada, Popeyes has introduced new COVID-19 measures.

Every location has physical distancing stickers on the floor and some even have them outside in case people line up to get their hands on one.

Face masks and gloves are mandatory for all staff and shields have been put up at the cash registers.

Staff will be out in the dining area to make sure that people are following public health and physical-distancing guidelines.

"One of the things that I think has made this product such a success is it's something that you would expect to get not from a quick-service restaurant or certainly at a much higher price point," Manuel said.

With all the waiting, he hopes that the sandwich lives up to the hype for Canadians.

With the launch in Canada, Popeyes is working on ways to make the sandwich exclusively with Canadian ingredients.

The sought-after sandwich was tested earlier this year in Edmonton and southwestern Ontario.

Manuel said that some people actually went on road trips from other parts of Ontario during that time just to get their hands on one.
