We do not know the long-term consequences of getting infected. We are starting to get clues from other countries that show even low-risk ppl could face prolonged recovery & long-term health risks from COVID-19. Some ppl are experiencing “Long COVID.”

She said a U.K. study showed almost 70% of people have ongoing symptoms like "fatigue, headache, shortness of breath or muscle aches 4 months after infection."
She also referenced the CDC which has reported heart conditions and ongoing symptoms after three weeks in one-tenth of COVID-19 patients.
"You have heard me speak before about my concerns about herd immunity from natural infection. 1st those infected can have long-term risks we don’t fully understand. 2nd if we let the virus spread freely there would be a terrible impact to our acute care system," the doctor continued.
On Thursday the province reported 427 new cases and a positivity rate of 3%.
Dr. Hinshaw also informed the public that 112 people are in the hospital with COVID-19 and 18 of those individuals are in the ICU.
