Contributor

As of June 1, 2021, the B.C. minimum wage will be increased to $15.20 per hour, up from $14.60.

Not only will that number be going up, but liquor servers will finally be getting the same amount as other minimum wage workers.

Previously earning below everyone else, liquor servers used to get only $13.95 per hour as their minimum wage.

Another impacted sector is live-in camp leaders who will now get $121.65 per day instead of $116.86.

Finally, “resident caretaker minimum wage, per month, increases to $912.28, plus $36.56 per suite for those who manage nine to 60 residential suites and to $3,107.42 for 61 or more suites,” says the update.
