Elon Musk Just Became The Second-Richest Person On Earth & His Net Worth Is Staggering

This mega-wealthy individual just keeps getting richer. On Monday, Elon Musk’s net worth soared yet again, making him the second-richest person on the planet.

On November 23, a new report from Bloomberg Wealth revealed that Musk had surpassed Bill Gates as the world’s second wealthiest person.

Per the report, Musk’s bump is thanks to “yet another” surge in Tesla’s share price, which boosted the co-founder's wealth by a whopping $7.2 billion.

If that wasn’t already impressive enough, the 49-year-old reportedly added $100.3 billion to his net worth this year alone, the biggest surge of anyone on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Perhaps even more staggering, the report confirmed that Musk had moved up 33 places on their wealthiest list this year alone.

In January, he ranked 35th.

This surge in wealth is largely thanks to Tesla, whose market value is now reportedly almost $500 billion.

Around 75% of the entrepreneur’s net worth is believed to be comprised of Tesla shares, but he also has stakes in other companies such as SpaceX. 

This is the first time in Bloomberg's richest list’s history that Bill Gates has placed lower than number two. Per the report, the Microsoft co-founder’s net worth ($127.7 billion) would be much higher if he hadn't donated so much money to charity.

Those on the richest list have collectively earned $1.3 trillion since the beginning of 2020.

It’s not all roses for these mega-wealthy people, though. Last week, Elon Musk was totally trolled on Twitter for being a “Space Karen.”
