Travellers Will Need A Negative COVID-19 Test To Drive Into Canada From The US

When it comes to travelling across the Canada-U.S. border, people will be required to show a negative COVID-19 test before they can enter this country.

Justin Trudeau announced several new travel restrictions on January 29 including one for the country's land border.

In the coming weeks, the rule requiring all non-essential travellers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before they can enter Canada through the land border with the U.S. will come into effect. 

Canada already requires all air travellers to have a negative pre-travel test even if they get vaccinated.

Trudeau also said that his government is currently working on "additional testing requirements for land travel."

Another new requirement that he announced along is that all travellers have to quarantine at hotels after they arrive in Canada.

He said as well that international flights are only allowed to land at four Canadian airports.

Also, it was announced that Canadian airlines are suspending all flights to sun destinations for months.
