According to city data, there are 16 active COVID-19 outbreaks in Toronto at various stores, factories and facilities. All in all, Toronto estimates there are 375 COVID-19 cases linked to workplace outbreaks across the city. And the city keeps an updated list of businesses with more than 20 employees and at least two confirmed COVID-19 cases on its website. The numbers are estimates, but as of Thursday, February 11, the 16 listed businesses included the Molson Coors brewery in Etobicoke, the Belmont Meat factory in North York, and even the provincial courthouse. Belmont Meats has the most confirmed cases with 94, slightly ahead of Johnvince Foods, which has 83. There are four confirmed COVID-19 cases at a Molson Coors factory, 25 at a Maple Leaf Foods facility, six at an Ontario Courts of Justice location, and 53 at Dimpflmeier Bakery in Etobicoke. The full list of workplaces and case numbers can be found on the City of Toronto's website. Publicly listing outbreaks is part of the city's strategy to help protect the employees of essential businesses who are still open during the province's stay-at-home order.
