I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer.

Elliot's letter offered gratitude to everyone who has supported them throughout the journey. They wrote that it felt remarkable to finally love who they are enough to pursue their "authentic self."

After thanking the inspiring folks of the trans community, Elliot said that he will offer whatever support he can and "continue to strive for a more loving and equal society.

"I also ask for patience. My joy is real, but it is also fragile," he continued. "The truth is, despite feeling profoundly happy right now and knowing how much privilege I carry, I am also scared."

They went on to "address the full picture," referring to the harrowing statistics of discrimination, violence, and criminalization towards the trans community.

"We won't be silent in the face of your attacks," Elliot pledged.

Finally, the letter ended with a message of hope and solidarity with those who deal with the many hardships that the trans community faces every day.

"I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better," he wrote.
