One of Ontario's 'most beautiful' hiking trails is near Toronto and it's a fall dreamscape

You can get there without a car.

Lead Writer, Travel

Put on your hiking boots and get ready for some majestic fall views at this hiking spot near Toronto. You can step into a kaleidoscope of autumn colours and breathe in the smell of the season as you wander along leaf-covered trails.

Niagara Glen Park, located about 2 hours from Toronto, is a stunning spot for a fall adventure.

According to GO Transit, Niagara Glen is "one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Ontario" and features breathtaking views of the foliage.

Situated in the Niagara Gorge, the area is home to "some of nature’s most beautiful and mysterious creations" and has "rugged hiking paths that wind through this pristine pocket of Carolinian Forest, past prehistoric geological formations, wild flora and fauna," according to Niagara Parks.

There are 4 kilometres of trails to explore. The Whirlpool Trail takes you past the vibrant turquoise waters of the Niagara River Whirlpool and Niagara River.

The views are even more beautiful during the autumn season, when the bright blue colour of the water contrasts with the surrounding orange woodland.

According to Visit Niagara, the "gorge becomes a canvas of autumn colours" and the "trees create a natural canopy in shades of red and gold."

If you don't have a car, you can still enjoy the views.

GO Transit offers trips from Toronto to the Niagara Falls GO Station. From there, you can get on the Greenline North bus and take a 9 minute ride to the Nature Centre.

The Niagara region boasts lots of other gorgeous fall adventures. You can take in the colours from the SkyWheel, sip seasonal beverages at the surrounding wineries and more.
