Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have published several notifications and food recall warnings that Canadians should take note of.

The reasons for the latest food recalls in Canada range from possible salmonella contamination to undeclared products that may cause reactions to those with allergies and sensitivities.

Here are five food items recently sold in the country that you should keep in mind when double-checking your fridge, pantry and freezer.


Alumauy brand Sweet Pepper

On January 22, a notification was issued for Alumauy brand Sweet Pepper distributed in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec that were recalled due to undeclared gluten.

On January 19, a food recall warning was issued for Kroes Croquettes brand Frikandellen distributed in Ontario due to undeclared milk.

On January 18, a notification was issued for Prime brand Hydration Drink sold in Alberta due to over-fortification of vitamins and labelling issues.

Glorious Goodies brand Cavendish Crunch Freeze Dried Treats

On January 16, a food recall warning was issued for Glorious Goodies brand Cavendish Crunch Freeze Dried Treats sold in Nova Scotia and P.E.I. egg, milk, and soy which are not declared on the label.

On January 15, a food notification was issued for Eagle brand Corn (frozen) sold in Ontario and possibly other parts of the country due to possible Salmonella contamination.
