If you get hired, you'll work as a Senior Program Support Medical Office Assistant with the Corporate Services Branch of Health Canada.

You must have successfully completed two years of high school and have experience in:

  • providing administrative support
  • using an electronic information or records system
  • handling and safeguarding sensitive information
  • analyzing, processing, and responding to requests from clients

It's required that you have verbal and written communication skills in English or French.

But some positions might require you to know both English and French.

You must be able to work in-person at an office, work overtime on short notice, travel, manually lift and carry items that weigh up to 44 pounds, and deliver services to clients in person.

A certificate or diploma as a medical office assistant from a post-secondary institution or experience working as a medical office assistant in a medical clinic or medical office could be considered an asset.
