There's a new Lotto Max winner in Canada who scored $1 million with a ticket bought at a grocery store.

After scanning the winning ticket, he walked right out of the store to go and tell his wife!

It was recently announced that Don and Barb Kostiuk won $1 million from the Lotto Max draw on August 12, 2025.

Don and Barb, who live in Saskatchewan, matched all seven numbers for one of the Maxmillions prizes.

They purchased the winning Lotto Max ticket from Greg's Grocery located at 3501 11 Street West in Saskatoon.

For the Maxmillions prize, the Lotto Max winning numbers were 13, 21, 28, 36, 40, 49, and 50.

After the draw on Tuesday night, Don took the ticket into a store to check the numbers.

"I scanned it a couple times and thought, 'This isn't right.'"

"So, I took it up to the cashier to scan, and it came up as a $1 million winner," Don said.

He walked out of the store and did jumping jacks before going back to his vehicle to tell his wife about the win.

"He's not great at doing a happy dance," Barb told Lotto Spot. "We were both so excited."

The Kostiuks told Lotto Spot that the first thing they'll do with their winnings is help their son move back home to Saskatoon.

"We will get him back home, do some investing, and see what the next plans are," Barb revealed.

Don also shared that the win feels like a gift.

"You dream about it and then it happens," he said. "At a little grocery store out in Saskatoon, when there are millions of people in Canada, it happened."
