Ontario Lotto Max winner shares tickets with his daughter and his ticket won $40 million
"She picked the wrong one." 👀

There's a new Lotto Max winner in Ontario who scored $40 million.
He shares tickets with his daughter, and "she picked the wrong one" because his ticket won the jackpot and hers didn't!
OLG just announced that Bernard White, a 79-year-old retired railway worker from Oshawa, won $40 million with the Lotto Max draw on February 21, 2025.
The Lotto Max winning numbers for that draw were 3, 5, 8, 25, 29, 32 and 43.
White bought the winning ticket at a Shell gas station on Taunton Road East in Oshawa.
"For a couple of years, I've been buying two Lotto Max tickets a week — one for me and one for my daughter. Before I go to bed, I always tell her to pick one. This time, she picked the wrong one," White revealed.
Early in the morning the day after the draw, White's daughter knocked on his bedroom door to tell him that she thought he had won $40,000.
He thought they could pay off their cars with that kind of money.
Then, just a few minutes later, White's daughter knocked on his door and said, "I think you won $40 million."
"I really wanted to jump out of bed, but I couldn't because I sleep in the nude. I would've hit the ceiling if I'd had underwear on," White shared.
His daughter went to work but couldn't focus, so she decided to leave early.
"When my daughter came home, we both went to the store where I'd bought the ticket," White explained. "We checked it at the lottery terminal, and it lit up like a Christmas tree."

White was so overwhelmed by winning the $40 million jackpot that he went on a drive and then told his long-time partner what happened.
He said he had won $40,000, but she didn't believe him. Then, he said he had won $40 million and showed her the ticket but she still wasn't convinced!
"I was having a difficult time even saying, 'I won $40 million.' It felt so surreal."
White has quite a few plans for the $40 million jackpot he won with Lotto Max.
"My daughter means a lot to me because when my late wife and I had her, she was the only child we could have. She's going to be well taken care of," he said.
"I've dreamt about winning big money and sharing it with my family. It's going to be a wonderful feeling to help them," he continued. "I'll be the favourite uncle for sure."
White also wants to buy a new fishing rod, get a new set of speakers, travel and support health organizations.
"I now plan to live life to the fullest and have fun," he said.
