It's time to start streaming. These Netflix Canada titles are stories about inspiring women and all of them have Canadian connections. If you're looking for something to watch during Women's History Month, we've got you covered!

October is Women's History Month in Canada and has been since it was officially designated back in 1992.

"We celebrate the significant achievements of women and girls, but also reflect on the work still to be done so that they can all reach their full potential," Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said about the month.

It's a time to celebrate and a time to watch women who rule the screen.

Why You Need To Watch It: Ghosts and music, what's a better combination than that? Julie encounters three ghosts and they decide to start a band together and it's heavenly. The show was filmed in Vancouver and Canadian Charlie Gillespie plays Luke, one of the Phantoms.

Never Have I Ever

Rating: TV-14

Why You Need To Watch It: Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays the lead of this show, is from Mississauga, Ontario. Never Have I Ever follows Devi after her father dies and it's been renewed for a second season so now is the perfect time to catch up on the first!

A Secret Love

Rating: TV-14

Why You Need To Watch It: This documentary is about two women who fell in love back in 1947 and kept their love a secret until they came out later in life. It was filmed in Saskatchewan and Alberta which are where the women and the doc's director are from.

Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker

Why You Need To Watch It: This show was filmed in Hamilton, Ontario and tells the true story of Madam C.J. Walker, an African American entrepreneur who was America's first female self-made millionaire.

The Baby-Sitters Club

Why You Need To Watch It: The Baby-Sitters Club is a new version of a series with the same name that was based on the book series. It's a classic and there are lots of Canadian connections! The show was filmed in Vancouver and stars Canadians Momona Tamada and Malia Baker.
