Ontario's giant new Costco opens next week — Here's absolutely everything we know so far
So exciting! 🤩

Excitement is building as Ontario prepares to open its latest Costco.
Anticipation is already building as Ontario prepares to welcome its newest Costco warehouse, and this one is set to be massive.
As previously reported by Narcity, the brand-new store will open its doors in Newmarket on Wednesday, August 20, and is expected to draw shoppers from across the region. Measuring around 15,500 square metres, it could easily rank among the most prominent Costco locations in the province.
This will be the 43rd Costco in Ontario, joining a growing network of warehouses that serve millions of members each year. The Newmarket site, located at 107 Harry Walker Parkway S., is conveniently positioned just off Highway 404 near Davis Drive, making it easily accessible for shoppers coming from nearby communities, such as Aurora, Bradford, and parts of northern Toronto.
The store will become the second Costco in the area, joining an existing location in East Gwillimbury just north of town. For residents in the region, the nearest stores to the East Gwillumbury warehouse are in Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan. That's about to change.
The new warehouse isn't just big in size; it's also packed with features. Shoppers will find 24 gas pumps, a fresh sushi bar, and an expanded alcohol section offering beer, wine, champagne, and ready-to-drink beverages. There's also a hearing aid department, more than 1,000 parking spaces, and the usual array of Costco staples.
While Newmarket's sushi bar will be a draw for many, it's not the first of its kind in Ontario. That honour goes to the Brantford location, which debuted the feature when it opened in November 2024. Still, this will be only the second Costco in the province where you can grab a fresh sushi roll along with your bulk groceries.
According to Costco's website, the Newmarket store will also feature a full-service bakery, a fresh produce section, a rotisserie chicken counter, a service deli, a fresh meat department, and self-checkout lanes to help keep those famously long lines moving.
Opening day will kick off with a ceremony. Newmarket Mayor John Taylor is scheduled to attend the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:30 a.m., followed by the doors opening to members at 7 a.m. sharp. From then on, hours will run Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Newmarket warehouse has also created approximately 80 permanent jobs in the community, adding to Costco's growing workforce in Ontario.
