Ontario's giant new Costco will have a fresh sushi bar, gas pumps and so much more
Excitement is starting to build! 🤩

A Costco.
Ontario is getting a giant new Costco that'll have a sushi bar, gas pumps and a whole host of other services.
As Narcity previously reported, the province's latest warehouse, located in Newmarket, will open its doors on Wednesday, August 20.
Its address will be at 107 Harry Walker Parkway S., Newmarket, ON, just off the 404 Highway near Davis Drive.
The store will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It will be the 42nd Costco location in Ontario, and it's going to be a big one. At around 15,500 square metres, it'll rank among the largest Costco locations in the province.
According to a press release shared with Narcity on Tuesday morning, the new Costco has a wealth of services. It'll feature a fresh sushi bar (similar to the location in Brantford), 24 gas pumps, a selection of beer, wine, champagne, and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, a hearing aid department, and over 1,000 parking spaces.
Newmarket isn't the first Costco in Ontario to have a sushi bar in its warehouse. The location in Brantford, which opened in November 2024, had that honour, but Newmarket is the second location in the province.
According to Costco's website, the store will also feature a bakery, a fresh produce section, a rotisserie chicken counter, a service deli, self-service checkouts, and a fresh meat department.
Newmarket Mayor John Taylor will be on hand to officially open the new Costco store. A ceremony will take place at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, and it will be open to the public at 7 a.m.
It'll be the second Costco location to open in the area, joining an existing warehouse just north of town in East Gwillimbury. The nearest stores from the East Gwillimbury location are more than a 20-minute drive away in Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan.

The new warehouse is expected to offer consumers all of the usual convenience and benefits associated with a Costco membership. Plus, it's created around 80 permanent jobs in the area.
One of the biggest perks of a Costco membership is arguably the access to Costco gas stations. But is it worth signing up just for the lower gas prices alone?
A basic Gold Star Costco membership costs $65 (plus tax) every year, and a membership is required to use their gas stations.
And, according to GasBuddy — a site that leverages crowdsourced gas price data from users — the average gas price across all Costco locations in Ontario on Tuesday, August 12, is approximately 124.2 c/L, whereas the average across the entire province is 130 c/L. So yes, it's probably worth it!
