As smoke from U.S. wildfires moved up north over the weekend, B.C.'s air quality was worse than almost anywhere in the world, including places in India and China.

As of Sunday, September 13, Vancouver was second-worst in the world in terms of air quality, only behind Portland, Oregon, according to the World Air Quality Index.

In Metro Vancouver, advisories have been issued each day since September 8 warning of smoke filling the skies coming up from Washington and Oregon, where they're experiencing an intense wildfire season.

They say that the fine particulate matter in the air can easily get inside your home and it's a concern for some people, particularly if they have underlying health conditions or even COVID-19.

It's time to stay cool, stay hydrated, and turn on your HEPA air filter to the max for a while if you have one, until the smoke clears away.
