I'm hyper-aware if I left even a toonie in a backpack, so how someone was able to leave a significant amount of forgotten cash at a Tim Hortons in B.C. is beyond me.

RCMP say that earlier this summer, someone went into the Tim Hortons at 955 Austin Avenue in Coquitlam.

They sat down, and when they left, they left a bag full of cash.

Corporal McLaughlin.

"It says a lot about our community that someone found this large amount of cash and immediately turned it over to police," said Corporal Michael McLaughlin in a press release.

But don't just pick up the phone and call saying that it's your wad.

The rightful owner will be expected to describe the bill denominations, the total amount, and the bag it was left in — they also have security camera footage, so, honestly, you're not going to fool anyone.

"It is still very possible that this cash is the proceeds of crime.  Of course we won't know for sure until we track down the person who left the money," said RCMP to Narcity in a statement.*

If you really did misplace this much money on Saturday, June 20 at this Tim Hortons, then you can call 604-945-1550 and ask for Constable Andrew Krueger to get it back.
